First A.M.E. Child Development Center (FAME CDC) offers free Early Head Start, Head Start and Home-Based educational programs to prenatal mothers and children from birth to five years old. We offer part-day and full-day options for qualifying families that reside in our service boundaries in Capitol Hill, the Central Area, Rainier Valley communities of Seattle.

Head Start programs promote school-readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutrition, social and other services to enrolled children and their families. In addition to providing a healthful and safe learning environment for children, our staff assists families in providing health and nutritional counseling, collaborate with parents in developing individual and family strengths and partner with other community services to better meet the needs of families.
